Deck overview

This Golgari deck executes fast A+B infinite life-drain combos supported by premium black tutors, explosive fast mana, and targeted protection. Its primary route to victory pairs Witherbloom Apprentice or Professor Onyx with Chain of Smog. By casting Chain of Smog targeting yourself, you can repeatedly copy the spell indefinitely, triggering Magecraft on every copy to drain all three opponents to zero life on Turn 3. A dense package of fast mana (Dark Ritual, Sol Ring, Mana Vault) and top-tier tutors (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Imperial Seal) ensures reliable early assembly. If the primary line faces disruption, low-cost reanimation spells (Reanimate, Animate Dead) restore the engine within one turn. Secondary combos featuring Exquisite Blood alongside Dina, Soul Steeper, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Bloodthirsty Conqueror provide independent win conditions. Protective spells like Veil of Summer and Defense Grid secure the winning turn against opposing interaction.
