Deck overview

This Edgar Markov deck executes a classic Mardu Vampire aggro-aristocrats strategy powered by the commander's Eminence ability. From the first turn, casting cheap Vampire spells generates free 1/1 Vampire tokens from the command zone without spending additional mana. The deck curves low-cost creatures like Knight of the Ebon Legion and Voldaren Epicure into aggressive tribal lords such as Legion Lieutenant, Stromkirk Captain, and Bloodline Keeper. Card advantage engines like Skullclamp and Welcoming Vampire capitalize on the high volume of small creatures to maintain a steady hand. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around Turn 5 using mass pump effects like Shared Animosity or life-draining triggers from Sanctum Seeker, Blood Artist, and Malakir Bloodwitch. High-quality spot removal including Swords to Plowshares and Anguished Unmaking efficiently clears opposing blockers and key threats. While highly resilient to targeted interaction, the deck must navigate creature sweepers using Boros Charm or aristocrat death triggers to seal the victory.
