Deck overview

This Grixis build is wrapped around Sauron, the Dark Lord: every Ring trigger turns into a four-card draw, and discard-fueled reanimation supplies a steady battlefield. The primary plan is an amass-value midrange game that grows a huge Orc Army, then breaks parity with Living Death or reanimation speed from Buried Alive and Final Parting. Secondary paths are the Wraith/token spell shell (Lord of the Nazgul, Nazgul, In the Darkness Bind Them) and a lordly commander-damage finish using My Precious or Rogue: the unblockable 7/6 Sauron carries the game. The hidden finisher in the 99 is Sauron, Lord of the Rings, which reanimates a creature on cast and gives a 9/9 haymaker.
