Kefka! by Candle

Format: Commander

Commander: Kefka, Court Mage // Kefka, Ruler of Ruin

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis discard-control strategy helmed by Kefka, Court Mage // Kefka, Ruler of Ruin that leverages forced discarding and looting to generate value, drain opponents, and set up a graveyard engine. The commander's front side rewards each discard with card draw, while the back side draws cards equal to life lost during your turn, creating a powerful looping draw-damage engine once online. The deck wins through incremental attrition (Megrim, Liliana's Caress, Black Waltz No. 3), combo finishes (Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind / Niv-Mizzet, Parun + Curiosity), or a massive Rise of the Dark Realms reanimation. It packs significant disruption via discard spells, counters, and targeted removal, but its reliance on the graveyard and the commander's transformation makes it vulnerable to graveyard hate and commander removal.
