Deck overview

This Abzan deck weaponizes high-toughness creatures and defenders under the leadership of Felothar the Steadfast. By converting defensive bodies into massive offensive threats, the deck generates high damage-to-mana efficiency. Early turns focus on establishing mana-producing and card-filtering walls like Overgrown Battlement and Wall of Omens. Once Felothar or an alternate assigner like Doran, the Siege Tower enters, these low-cost permanents turn into lethal attackers. The deck breaks parity through asymmetric board wipes such as Slaughter the Strong, Dusk // Dawn, and Expel the Interlopers, which annihilate traditional opposing boards while leaving 0-power defenders untouched. Excellent defensive shielding via Heroic Intervention, Flawless Maneuver, and Teferi's Protection guards against board wipes. Consistent card advantage is achieved by sacrificing high-toughness creatures to Felothar's activated ability, drawing massive bursts of cards with zero discard penalty.
