Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Grixis Dragon Reanimator strategy commanded by Nicol Bolas, the Ravager. The primary game plan revolves around accelerating mana during the early turns with efficient mana rocks and cost reducers like Rivaz of the Claw, while systematically stocking the graveyard with lethal Dragon threats through Entomb, Buried Alive, and looting spells. On Turn 4 to 5, the deck transitions into its critical onset phase by deploying mass reanimation spells like Living Death and Patriarch's Bidding or cheating creatures directly from hand with Sneak Attack. Once on the battlefield, heavy hitters such as Terror of the Peaks, Scourge of Valkas, and Lathliss, Dragon Queen convert Dragon entries into massive bursts of direct burn damage and lethal aerial attacks. The commander provides incidental hand disruption and late-game planeswalker utility, while Teferi's Veil and Notion Thief provide specialized board protection and resource denial.
