Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir Zombie tribal aristocrats strategy commanded by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver. The primary game plan revolves around casting early Zombie creatures, establishing Wilhelt on Turn 4 to convert dying creatures into 2/2 decayed Zombie tokens, and generating steady card advantage. In the mid-game, the deck capitalizes on tribal lords, mass recursion, and aristocrat drain engines like Diregraf Captain and Plague Belcher. By Turn 6, the deck presents a critical must-answer board through powerful finishers such as Coat of Arms, The Scarab God, or Dictate of Erebos, eliminating opponents through combined combat damage and death triggers by Turn 8. While the deck boasts high internal synergy, token resilience, and strong graveyard recovery, it is light on instant-speed interaction and stack protection, making it susceptible to exile-based board wipes and fast noncreature combo decks.
