K-Max by knuckles

Format: Commander

Commander: Kalamax, the Stormsire

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a spellslinger/copy deck helmed by Kalamax, the Stormsire. The primary strategy is to cast instants and sorceries, leveraging Kalamax's copy ability - triggered when he is tapped - and a dense suite of additional copy effects (Double Vision, Swarm Intelligence, Chandra, Hope's Beacon, Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant, and more) to generate explosive value from each spell. The deck controls the board through a strong instant-speed interaction package, draws heavily off Archmage Emeritus and The Magic Mirror, and aims to win by accumulating damage from repeated copied spells (Lightning Bolt, Ral, Storm Conduit pings), commander damage from a pumped Kalamax, or a finishing Storm King's Thunder multiplied copy chain. An extra-turn spell, Plea for Power, provides occasional acceleration. The plan is flexible, relying on redundancy rather than a single combo line.
