Deck overview

This is a Golgari aristocrats-landfall hybrid helmed by Smeagol, Helpful Guide. The deck sacrifices creatures (especially Saproling/Fungus tokens) to trigger The Ring, letting Smeagol repeatedly steal opponents' lands while milling them. Stolen and self-ramped lands fuel explosive landfall payoffs (Scute Swarm, Rampaging Baloths, Zendikar's Roil, Avenger of Zendikar) and recursion loops with Bloodghast and Perilous Forays. Parallel win paths are classic aristocrats drains (Zulaport Cutthroat, Mirkwood Bats, Slimefoot, the Stowaway, Syr Konrad, the Grim) and sacrifice-outlet combos that go infinite with token engines and Pitiless Plunderer or Ashnod's Altar. Meren of Clan Nel Toth and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician provide deep recursion and card advantage independent of the commander. The deck wins through attrition, land denial, and sudden infinite drains rather than a single fragile line.
