Maular Bant by user5799316

Format: Commander

Commander: Maular, the Next Evolution

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

A "Rulebreaker" battlecruiser helmed by Maular, the Next Evolution, this deck exploits his deckbuilding exception to run a mono-green commander alongside 20 of the most expensive spells in green, white, and blue. The plan is deliberately simple: ramp harder than anyone, deploy Maular on curve, then drop a 7+ mana-value bomb every turn while his attack trigger doubles the power and toughness of the entire board of fatties. Wins come through combat - a doubled Zetalpa, Primal Dawn, Ghalta and Mavren, or Maular himself (a 20/20 on his first swing) plus Return of the Wildspeaker or Rogue's Passage removes a player in one shot. Tooth and Nail and Nature's Rhythm find the right threat at the right time, while Up the Beanstalk, Zendikar Resurgent, and Garruk's Uprising keep the hand fueled. The deck is slow, linear, and inexorable once the first giant hits the board.
