Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug the Magnificent is a mono-red Treasure-combat deck. The primary plan is to ramp into Smaug, arm him with Reaver Cleaver or a similar combat-damage Treasure producer, and use Aggravated Assault to take repeated extra combat steps once five Treasures are available. Magda, Brazen Outlaw is the hidden commander, turning five Treasures into an artifact/Dragon tutor for the combo pieces. Secondary wins include Hellkite Tyrant's and Knuckles's upkeep artifact-count victories and large Dragon beatdown with Twinflame Tyrant. Smaug himself is both the engine (upkeep Treasure) and the finisher (attack-trigger burn plus commander damage); this build aims squarely at his attack trigger rather than at either face of a double-faced card.
