Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal strategy commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. The deck leverages its commander's eminence ability to reduce the cost of all Sphinx spells by {1} generic mana from the command zone. Supported by artifact ramp and dedicated cost-reducers like Urza's Incubator, the deck accelerates into powerful engine creatures by Turn 4. Central to the deck's card velocity is a package of 12 copies of Sphinx's Approach, which act as repeatable card draw, fuel for Sphinx of the Chimes, and direct-to-battlefield creature tutors. Once an engine like Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign or Consecrated Sphinx resolves, the deck rapidly fills the battlefield with massive flying threats. Opponents are pressured on Turn 6 through aerial combat, life-setting effects like Magister Sphinx, and free spells cast off The Ur-Sphinx attack triggers. The deck closes out games around Turn 8, supported by asymmetric sweepers like Kindred Judgment and Cyclonic Rift.
