Valgavoth: Group Slug Hate by Ransack

Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 4

DeckCheck Threat Index: 46

Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Rakdos Group Slug engine commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy revolves around deploying low-cost, continuous damage sources like Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, and Underworld Dreams that guarantee life loss during each opponent's turn. Once Valgavoth enters the battlefield on Turn 4, these triggers grow the commander into a lethal flying threat while drawing three extra cards per table rotation. The deck converts this massive card flow into board control, deploying life-gain denial (Rampaging Ferocidon, Roiling Vortex), heavy disruption (Deadly Rollick, Toxic Deluge), and damage multipliers (Furnace of Rath, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, Wound Reflection). While vulnerable to sweepers, the deck's high redundancy and continuous card advantage allow it to quickly rebuild and eliminate the table by Turn 7.
