Format: Commander

Commander: The Howling Abomination

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This RG spells-matter/voltron deck is built around The Howling Abomination's triggered ability. It dumps cheap targeting instants and sorceries onto the commander, turning each cast into +2/+2 and 2 damage to every opponent, then finishes with trample pump and Berserk/Bulk Up. Zada, Hedron Grinder acts as a hidden second commander: targeting her with a cantrip copies it across the board, refills the hand, and also tags The Howling Abomination to trigger it. Back-up damage comes from Guttersnipe, Thermo-Alchemist, Firespitter Whelp and Young Pyromancer tokens. The deck is fast and low to the ground, but fragile: it needs the commander alive, has no enchantment removal, and can be stopped by a board wipe or a resolved Rule of Law.
