Deck overview

This deck is a Mardu graveyard-centric midrange deck commanded by Celes, Rune Knight. The primary strategy focuses on stocking the graveyard through looting and commander triggers, then recurring creatures to trigger Celes's team-wide +1/+1 counter growth. Enablers like Excava, the Risen Past, Priest of Fell Rites, and Hofri Ghostforge bring threats back from the graveyard, which synergizes directly with token generators like Quintorius, Field Historian and burn payoffs like Gau, Feral Youth. The deck features robust spot removal in white and black to manage opposing threats while building out its own board. Mana development relies on standard 2-CMC rocks and on-curve lands. Without infinite combos or fast mana, the deck wins through progressive, scaling combat steps and burn, closing out games around Turn 8.
