Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages lifegain triggers and drain effects to control the table and grind out an attrition-based victory. Led by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel, the deck turns every instance of lifegain into card draw by paying life back into the engine. Early turns focus on deploying passive lifegain sources, pillowfort deterrents like Ghostly Prison, and incremental drain creatures. Once the commander lands on Turn 6, the deck converts its surplus life into massive card advantage, drawing into token producers like Angelic Accord and Valkyrie Harbinger or life-loss multipliers like Enduring Tenacity and Psychosis Crawler. Victory is secured through flying creature swarms and explosive drain effects like Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate.
