Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Sultai combo and big-mana strategy led by Zaxara, the Exemplary. Its primary win condition pairs Zaxara with an untap aura—specifically Freed from the Real or Pemmin's Aura—to generate infinite colored mana as early as Turn 4. Because Zaxara resides in the command zone, the deck only needs to locate one aura via dense black tutors like Demonic Tutor or specialized searchers like Pia, Aether Ascetic and Drift of Phantasms. Once infinite mana is active, the deck channels its resources into lethal X-spells such as Torment of Hailfire, Walking Ballista, or Finale of Devastation for an immediate same-turn victory. Outside the combo, the list functions as a powerful battlecruiser engine, deploying massive Hydras, drawing cards through scaling X-spells, and doubling tokens. While reliant on creature-based setup that is vulnerable to well-timed spot removal, backup mana engines like Bloom Tender and free protection spells ensure strong resilience and rapid recovery.
