Deck overview

This mono-black deck is an aggressive tribal engine led by Marrow-Gnawer. The primary strategy floods the board with efficient low-drop Rats, multiple copies of Rat Colony, and token generators before casting the commander. Once active, Marrow-Gnawer exponentially multiplies the Rat army each turn cycle and grants fear to all Rats, making the board virtually unblockable against non-black, non-artifact decks. The list also houses an infinite token and drain loop using Thornbite Staff alongside Ayara, First of Locthwain or Mirkwood Bats. Robust black recursion packages like Bloodline Bidding and Victimize ensure rapid recovery following sweepers, while Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm provides an independent, crushing combat pump engine if the commander is removed.
