Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Jenova, Ancient Calamity to turn +1/+1 counters into explosive card draw and game-ending damage. The deck accelerates in the opening turns with efficient mana dorks and land ramp, setting up scalable creatures such as Kami of Whispered Hopes and Incubation Druid. Once Jenova hits the battlefield, its combat trigger rapidly grows target creatures into massive Mutants. The strategy smoothly pivots between aggressive combat damage and aristocrats-style value: swollen Mutants attack with trample or get sacrificed to Greater Good, Disciple of Freyalise, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician to draw dozens of cards. The deck finishes games cleanly by flinging gigantic creatures with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, draining the table with Psychosis Crawler, or overrunning blockers using Overwhelming Stampede. A dense, low-mana instant protection suite keeps key pieces safe throughout execution.
