AMASS by raiderdbaiter

Format: Commander

Commander: Saruman, the White Hand

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Grixis Amass midrange deck helmed by Saruman, the White Hand. The core plan is to cast a steady stream of noncreature spells-instants, sorceries, artifacts, and enchantments-to grow a single massive Orc Army token, then close through oversized combat, counter-based burn, or big X-spells. Saruman turns every noncreature cast into amass equal to its mana value and gives Goblins and Orcs ward {2}, making the Army sticky. The deck layers redundant amass engines (Dreadhorde Invasion, March from the Black Gate, Bothersome Noisemaker, the Sauron package) so the plan does not live or die on the commander. Finishers include Embercleave/Assault on Osgiliath combat, All Will Be One and The Great Goblin converting counters into direct damage, and drain/draw bombs like Exsanguinate and Peer into the Abyss. Equipment and evasion (The Reaver Cleaver, Trailblazer's Boots, Rogue's Passage) push the Army through blockers.
