Deck overview

This Sultai deck harnesses Zaxara, the Exemplary to convert large mana investments into overwhelming battlefield presence and game-ending burst damage. The game plan focuses on ramping during turns 1 through 3, deploying Zaxara by Turn 4, and leveraging its two-mana tap ability to fuel high-impact X-spells. Every X-spell triggers Zaxara to create a scaling Hydra token, generating massive board presence alongside spells like Hydroid Krasis, Curse of the Swine, and Pull from Tomorrow. Counter multipliers such as Doubling Season, Branching Evolution, and Unbound Flourishing accelerate this board into a lethal trampling force aided by Garruk's Uprising. When natural draws supply Freed from the Real or Pemmin's Aura, the deck forms an infinite colored mana engine with Zaxara, funneling that mana into game-ending finishers like Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate. While formidable in big-mana slugfests, the deck must navigate vulnerability to sweepers and limited stack protection.
