Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black Aristocrats engine centered on Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker. Shirei triggers on creatures with power 1 or less, returning them from the graveyard to the battlefield at the beginning of each player's end step. By combining free sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer, Carrion Feeder, and Ashnod's Altar with high-utility 1-power creatures, the deck extracts quadruple value across a full turn rotation. Virus Beetle rapidly empties opposing hands, Dusk Legion Zealot draws four cards per cycle, and Bone Shredder systematically dismantles opposing creature boards. Meanwhile, drain engines like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Bastion of Remembrance whittle down life totals. While the deck eschews infinite combos and tutors, it compensates with immense card velocity and severe attrition. It closes games on Turn 7 through compounded drain and explosive finishers like Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Living Death.
