Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan midrange powerhouse commanded by Yannik, Scavenging Sentinel and Nikara, Lair Scavenger. It seamlessly merges +1/+1 counter distribution with blink and flicker synergies to generate massive card advantage and an overwhelming combat board. In the opening turns, dense acceleration enables a swift deployment of Nikara, who automatically tutors Yannik into hand via their partner mechanic. Once Yannik hits the battlefield on Turn 4, it exiles a creature to distribute counters, instantly priming Nikara's draw ability whenever creatures leave the zone. By Turn 5, counter multipliers like Branching Evolution and Corpsejack Menace, alongside mass blink engines like Teleportation Circle and Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward, convert small creatures into lethal threats while Champion of Lambholt and Duskshell Crawler ensure combat evasion. Supported by format-staple protection like Teferi's Protection and Flawless Maneuver, the deck applies relentless pressure and closes games around Turn 6 via lethal attacks and Corpse Knight drain.
