Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Grixis midrange engine led by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The deck controls the early game using efficient mana rocks, low-cost removal, and premier countermagic. Once Sauron enters the battlefield, opposing spells amass an Orc Army that triggers the Ring temptation whenever it deals combat damage. This trigger lets you discard your hand to draw four new cards, rapidly cycling through your library while dumping massive creatures like Archon of Cruelty and Archfiend of Ifnir into the graveyard. The deck then pivots into overwhelming reanimation spells, asymmetric wheel punishment via Notion Thief and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, or swarms of 9/9 Wraiths generated by Lord of the Nazgûl to close out the game over two combat rotations.
