Deck overview

This deck is a five-color Mutate strategy helmed by Morophon, the Boundless, designed to exploit the compounding triggers of the Mutate mechanic. The game plan centers on deploying low-cost, inherently resilient non-Human creatures—such as Slippery Bogle and Gladecover Scout—and stacking powerful Mutate creatures on top of them. Multiplying engines like Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief, Vesuvan Duplimancy, and Season of Growth turn every mutate spell into exponential card draw, token generation, and board development. High-impact apex predators, including Auspicious Starrix and Nethroi, Apex of Death, rapidly cheat permanents into play and reanimate fallen threats, while Snapdax, Apex of the Hunt and Insatiable Hemophage apply massive combat pressure and life drain. Backed by a pristine mana base of original dual lands and fetchlands, resilient recursion, and efficient interaction, the deck transitions smoothly from early ramp into an overwhelming, evasive board presence that closes the game around Turn 7.
