Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Golgari Voltron strategy centered on Skullbriar, the Walking Grave. Fueled by an explosive suite of 0-1 CMC mana rocks, the deck consistently deploys Skullbriar on Turn 1 or Turn 2 and immediately begins building power through combat damage. It magnifies this growth with counter doublers such as Branching Evolution and Increasing Savagery, quickly reaching one-shot commander damage thresholds by Turn 4. Because Skullbriar retains all counters across death and exile, conventional removal fails to reset its board presence. The deck secures its threat with low-cost protective spells and permanent keyword counters, granting hexproof, indestructible, and unblockable traits. While it lacks infinite combos and must eliminate three opponents sequentially across separate combat turns, its relentless speed and engine resilience make it an imposing combat clock.
