Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Orzhov lifegain strategy led by Karlov of the Ghost Council. It converts high-density, low-cost lifegain triggers—such as Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, and Authority of the Consuls—into rapid +1/+1 counters on Karlov. By Turn 3 or 4, Karlov becomes a massive threat that clocks opponents with commander damage while acting as repeatable, instant-speed creature exile. The deck supplements its Voltron pressure with asymmetric stax pieces like Blind Obedience and Kambal, Consul of Allocation to suppress opposing tempo. If combat is stalled, the deck transitions into game-ending infinite life-drain combos featuring Exquisite Blood alongside Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, or Bloodthirsty Conqueror, or finishes the table with an Aetherflux Reservoir laser. Robust protection spells and resilient recursion ensure the engine withstands removal.
