Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx kindred strategy led by The Ur-Sphinx. The deck uses passive Eminence cost reduction alongside dedicated mana rocks and artifacts like Urza's Incubator and Heartless Summoning to cheat mana costs on high-cost flying creatures. Early turns focus on establishing mana velocity and deploying engine pieces like Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign or Consecrated Sphinx to bury opponents in card advantage. In the midgame, the deck pivots into an evasive aerial assault, using game-altering enters-the-battlefield triggers like Magister Sphinx to slash life totals and Azor, the Lawbringer or Raise the Palisade to neutralize opposing defenses. A robust suite of instant-speed countermagic and removal protects the board state, ensuring smooth transitions into lethal combat steps that eliminate players over consecutive attack phases.
