Marchesa by jimdandy

Format: Commander

Commander: Queen Marchesa

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Mardu monarch/politics deck helmed by Queen Marchesa, built to seize the monarchy early and convert it into relentless card advantage while goad effects, pillowfort pieces, and token generation control the combat step. The primary plan is to become the monarch, deploy goad auras and curses that force opponents to fight each other, and grind out wins through incremental combat damage, death-trigger drain from Mayhem Devil and Bastion of Remembrance, and treasure-fueled value from Mahadi, Emporium Master and Olivia, Opulent Outlaw. The deck's finishers are asymmetric board wipes like Ruinous Ultimatum and the parity-swinging Mutinous Massacre, which clears the board and steals a lethal swing. It is a classic midrange attrition deck with no infinite combos, relying on inevitability through monarch draws, token density, and political manipulation.
