One man army, bulk by Whekau

Format: Commander

Commander: Lightning, Army of One

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a focused Boros Voltron deck built around Lightning, Army of One, a 3/2 human soldier with first strike, trample, and lifelink. Its Stagger ability doubles all damage from any source to a player it hits until your next turn, creating a powerful synergy between combat and burn spells. The deck's primary plan is to suit up Lightning with equipment like Fireshrieker, Inquisitor's Flail, and Two-Handed Axe, connect with a player to activate Stagger, then finish the table with mass burn spells such as Chandra's Ignition, Acidic Soil, or Price of Progress. A dense suite of protection spells and board wipes keeps Lightning alive and the path clear. The strategy is linear and heavily commander-dependent, with no infinite combos or backup creatures.
