Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai midrange engine commanded by Zaxara, the Exemplary, blending X-cost spell synergies with an Aristocrats sacrifice shell. Zaxara provides both mana acceleration and free Hydra tokens whenever an X-spell is cast. By casting zero-mana X-creatures like Endless One and Stonecoil Serpent, the deck generates immediate creature deaths as both the token and the creature enter with zero toughness. These deaths trigger powerful card-draw engines (Grim Haruspex, Moldervine Reclamation) and life-draining Aristocrats (Bastion of Remembrance, Zulaport Cutthroat). The deck transitions into a lethal state by assembling overwhelming token swarms, casting massive X-spells, or looping zero-cost creatures with Mortuary for infinite drain. While vulnerable to early disruption and exile sweepers, deep graveyard recursion ensures sustained late-game resilience.
