Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Group Slug and Punisher Burn strategy commanded by The Lord of Pain. The primary game plan revolves around turning every routine game action into painful attrition for opponents. By stacking permanents that punish casting spells (Spellshock, Eidolon of the Great Revel, Scytheclaw Raptor), drawing cards (Underworld Dreams, Razorkin Needlehead), and playing lands (Zo-Zu the Punisher), the deck rapidly whittles down opposing life totals. The Lord of Pain supercharges this clock by dealing direct damage equal to the mana value of each player's first spell each turn, while permanently disabling opponents from gaining life. Damage multipliers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Wound Reflection turn incremental taxes into game-ending bursts. Combat disruption cards such as Disrupt Decorum and Kardur, Doomscourge force opponents to attack each other, ensuring the pilot remains safe while the entire table burns out simultaneously.
