Deck overview

The Great Goblin commands a Rakdos aristocrats deck that weaponizes counter placement alongside traditional sacrifice synergies. Whenever a counter is placed on a Goblin, Orc, or Army, the commander deals 2 damage to an opponent, turning amass, blight, and counter equipment into direct burn. In addition, every dying Goblin or Orc impulse-exiles a card playable until the end of your next turn, providing exceptional card flow that sustains momentum throughout the game. The deck accelerates in the opening turns using efficient mana rocks and rituals to deploy The Great Goblin on Turn 3. It assembles token engines and counter triggers on Turn 4, rapidly building toward critical mass. By Turn 6, mass token creation from Krenko, Mob Boss or sacrifice loops involving Blade of the Bloodchief, Uglúk of the White Hand, and Goblin Bombardment generate lethal burn across the table. While vulnerable to exile board wipes, the deck's dense redundancy ensures relentless pressure.
