Deck overview

This Kaalia of the Vast deck executes a classic Mardu cheat-into-play aggressive strategy. The primary game plan focuses on deploying 2-CMC mana acceleration on Turn 2, casting Kaalia on Turn 3, and attacking on Turn 4 to put massive Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. The creature package contains an array of lethal beaters, board-control engines, and asymmetric utility threats, including Master of Cruelties, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Avacyn, Angel of Hope, Aurelia, the Warleader, and Valgavoth, Terror Eater. The deck backs up this aggressive core with a suite of cheap, highly efficient spot removal in Mardu colors to dismantle opposing blockers and critical engines. If Kaalia is answered, the deck pivots smoothly into hardcasting mid-range threats or utilizing reanimation spells like Animate Dead and Victimize. While vulnerable to targeted removal before Kaalia's first attack, the deck delivers overwhelming combat pressure and fast eliminations when unimpeded.
