Deck overview

This Boros deck is piloted by The Jolly Balloon Man, focusing on creating temporary 1/1 flying, hasty Balloon token copies of high-impact enter-the-battlefield (ETB) creatures. During early turns, the deck sets up on-curve mana and establishes card-drawing permanents such as Caretaker's Talent and Spirited Companion. By Turn 4, the commander begins duplicating value creatures to generate continuous card advantage and board presence. The deck transitions into its critical onset around Turn 6 by dropping potent damage amplifiers like Purphoros, God of the Forge, Terror of the Peaks, Impact Tremors, and Cathars' Crusade. These pieces convert every Balloon token created into direct damage across all opponents while maintaining evasive aerial combat pressure. While vulnerable to early creature sweepers, the deck leverages resilient protection spells like Teferi's Protection and Flare of Fortitude alongside backup token swarm engines to close games cleanly around Turn 8.
