Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Dragon Stompy and Treasure engine commanded by Smaug the Impenetrable. Smaug provides an indestructible 8/7 flying body with haste that creates Treasure tokens whenever he is dealt noncombat damage. The game plan focuses on deploying dragon cost-reducers and mana rocks during the early turns to cast Smaug on Turn 6. Once Smaug enters, the deck triggers his ability using damage-based board wipes and targeted self-damage spells like Blasphemous Act, Cut Propulsion, and Pyrohemia, producing massive bursts of Treasure mana. This mana fuels secondary dragon bombs like Terror of the Peaks, Cavern-Hoard Dragon, and Ancient Copper Dragon, as well as burn finishers like Exsanguinate and drain from Mirkwood Bats. While vulnerable to exile-based removal and countermagic, Smaug's natural resilience to destruction lets the deck dominate creature combat and close out multiplayer games through lethal aerial swings and scaling indirect damage.
