Deck overview

This Golgari +1/+1 counters deck is led by Jenova, Ancient Calamity, a 1/5 that puts a number of +1/+1 counters equal to its power on another target creature each combat, turning it into a Mutant, and draws cards equal to its power whenever a Mutant dies during your turn. The deck accumulates counters through multiple synergies: Corpsejack Menace, Shang-Chi, Martial Mentor, and Michelangelo, Weirdness to 11 for doubling, Forgotten Ancient for passive growth, and Sazh Katzroy for attack-trigger doubling. Jenova's combat trigger distributes counters, and sacrifice outlets like Deadly Dispute, Bone Splinters, and Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER convert those creatures into card draw, life drain, or direct damage. The primary win condition is combat damage from massively overgrown creatures, with Morlun, Devourer of Spiders providing a one-shot alternative or Wolverine, Claws Out delivering trample-relevant double-strikes. The deck lacks tutors and fast mana, making it a slower, value-driven build that excels in grinding out incremental advantage.
