Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Big-Mana Combo and Burn engine piloted by Smaug the Impenetrable. The primary strategy accelerates mana in the early turns using efficient mana rocks and rituals to cast Smaug by turn 5. Because Smaug is indestructible and creates a Treasure token whenever he takes noncombat damage, the deck turns symmetric burn spells and self-damage effects like Blasphemous Act, Cut Propulsion, and Pyrohemia into massive bursts of mana. Once Smaug converts damage into a hoard of 13 to 16 or more Treasure tokens, the deck converts that mana into game-ending payoffs. Finishers include lethal mana sinks like Torment of Hailfire, direct damage outlets like Jaya's Immolating Inferno, and artifact-drain engines like Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Reckless Fireweaver. Built-in haste and indestructible protect Smaug from conventional destroy sweepers, while backup lines such as Brash Taunter paired with Blazing Sunsteel provide resilient secondary win conditions.
