Commander: Derevi, Empyrial Tactician

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Bant Bird tribal deck floods the air with cheap fliers and wins through combat. Derevi, Empyrial Tactician supports the plan by tapping blockers and untapping lands or Rogue's Passage, but the real engine is twenty Tempest Hawks that tutor each other on combat damage to build a wide board fast. Lords such as Empyrean Eagle, Murmuration, and Eldrazi Monument pump the team and grant indestructible, while Kastral, the Windcrested, Kindred Discovery, Distant Melody, and Airborne Aid turn attacks into cards and recursion. Donal, Herald of Wings, Tawnos, the Toymaker, and Reflections of Littjara copy Birds for extra value, and Raise the Palisade clears non-Birds for a lethal alpha strike.
