Deck overview

This deck is commanded by Rikala, Homarid King, focusing on rapid counter manipulation, Island mana multiplication, and heavy Simic control. By utilizing fast 0-1 CMC acceleration, the deck deploys Rikala early and uses proliferate spells and counter shifters like Power Conduit and Goldberry, River-Daughter to reach and maintain three tide counters. Once at three counters, Rikala doubles the mana generated by every Island, transforming lands into explosive mana engines when paired with Dryad of the Ilysian Grove or Prismatic Omen. The deck converts this massive mana surplus into devastating mid-game threats on Turn 5, deploying Hullbreaker Horror to dominate the stack and bounce opposing boards, Stormtide Leviathan to lock down combat, or Finale of Devastation to overrun opponents. Robust countermagic and full-board hexproof/indestructible protection from Heroic Intervention and Mutational Advantage ensure the engine remains resilient against removal.
