Attack of the Nine, Nazgul Spellslinger by TDaly431

Format: Commander

Commander: Lord of the Nazgûl

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 42

Deck overview

This deck combines a high-density Dimir spellslinger shell with a dedicated Wraith typal win condition led by Lord of the Nazgûl. The strategy focuses on ramping into the commander on Turn 4, then chaining low-cost cantrips, countermagic, and removal to generate an army of 3/3 Wraith tokens with menace. Because every reactive spell creates a threat, the deck maintains interaction while building board presence. The 9 copies of Nazgûl synergize with Ring-tempting spells to distribute +1/+1 counters across all Wraiths, scaling token power rapidly. Card advantage engines such as Kindred Discovery, Black Market Connections, and Call of the Ring keep the hand full of cheap spells. When the token count reaches nine, the commander transforms all Wraiths into 9/9 behemoths. Alternatively, an overloaded Raise the Palisade clears opposing blockers to finish the game across two combat rotations by Turn 8.
