Deck overview

This Bant midrange deck is helmed by Tidus, Yuna's Guardian and revolves around generating +1/+1 counters, proliferating them, and turning board growth into steady card advantage and lethal combat steps. Early turns focus on deploying efficient ramp and counter enablers such as Hardened Scales, Gyre Sage, and Shelinda, Yevon Acolyte. Once Tidus enters the battlefield on Turn 4, its Cheer ability moves counters, draws cards, and proliferates each turn. The midgame scales creature sizes rapidly using payoffs like Forgotten Ancient, Wakka, Devoted Guardian, Maester Seymour, and Sin, Unending Cataclysm. Decisive finishes are achieved around Turn 6 by granting the wide board double strike through Chocobo Knights, granting trample via Duskshell Crawler and Sphere Grid, or resolving asymmetric wipes like Damning Verdict. The deck is resilient against destroy effects thanks to shield counters, Inspiring Call, and Resourceful Defense, presenting an escalating midrange clock.
