Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Simic control and spellslinger strategy helmed by Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student // Tamiyo, Seasoned Scholar. The game plan prioritizes deploying Tamiyo on turn one and flipping her into a planeswalker on turn two using efficient draw spells like Brainstorm or Careful Study. Once transformed, Tamiyo generates steady card advantage and spell recursion while ticking up her loyalty. Proliferation engines such as Ichormoon Gauntlet, Dreamtide Whale, and Deepglow Skate rapidly accelerate Tamiyo toward her -7 ultimate. Supported by premier free interaction, robust fog engines, and flexible protection like Ripples of Potential, the deck safely stalls opposing combat steps and disrupts critical combo attempts. Upon activating Tamiyo’s ultimate on turn five, the deck draws roughly forty cards, casts fast mana artifacts, and immediately closes out the game using Psychosis Crawler life drain or Laboratory Maniac. It excels at grinding out multiplayer pods with low-cost interaction while setting up an explosive, protected same-turn win.
