Deck overview

This Gruul deck uses Anzrag, the Quake-Mole at the helm of a big-mana Giant and Treefolk stompy strategy. The deck focuses on developing basic lands through green ramp spells such as Summer Bloom, Gaea's Touch, and Caravan Vigil, hitting land drops reliably with a 41-land base. Once mana is established, the deck casts Anzrag and large beaters like Kalonian Twingrove, Hamletback Goliath, and Dauntless Dourbark. By activating Anzrag's lure ability or backing it with damage doublers like Calamity Bearer and Absorbing Man and Titania, the deck forces unfavorable blocks, untaps its attackers, and takes extra combat phases to overpower opponents. The list trades instant-speed interaction and combo finishes for raw creature statistics and aggressive board presence.
