Deck overview

Olag and Miau, New Friends commands an Abzan dual-tribal deck that bridges Cat and Zombie synergies through token generation, +1/+1 counters, and asymmetric life drain. The game plan focuses on deploying early ramp and low-cost tribal threats, establishing Olag on Turn 3, and expanding the board with wide token engines such as Felidar Retreat, Esika's Chariot, and Arahbo, the First Fang. As Cats and Zombies enter, Olag distributes counters across both tribes, building a formidable attacking force. During combat and through tap engines like Cryptolith Rite and Cryptbreaker, the deck turns its creatures sideways to trigger Olag's end-step ability, draining each opponent for every tapped Cat and Zombie. Supported by secondary drain pieces like Throne of the God-Pharaoh and Corpse Knight, the deck applies relentless multi-target life loss that bypasses standard combat blockers. While vulnerable to board sweepers, the deck leverages graveyard recursion and instant-speed token bursts to rebuild and close out games by Turn 8.
