Deck overview

This Golgari deck helmed by Meren of Clan Nel Toth is a dedicated Aristocrats and Reanimator strategy focused on incremental advantage, graveyard recursion, and creature-based board control. The deck accelerates in the opening turns with ramp and self-sacrificing creatures like Sakura-Tribe Elder and Blood Pet, establishing Meren by Turn 4. Once operational, the engine leverages dense edict effects from Plaguecrafter, Fleshbag Marauder, and Accursed Marauder alongside Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos to continuously clear opposing creature boards. Victory is achieved through repeated drain triggers from Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Syr Konrad, the Grim, supported by combat damage from reanimated threats like Massacre Wurm and End-Raze Forerunners. While highly resilient to standard board wipes due to player-bound experience counters, the deck remains vulnerable to dedicated graveyard exile and lacks instant-speed stack interaction.
