Commander: Thor Odinson

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Thor Odinson is a Boros equipment/instant voltron deck. The commander's double prowess turns every cheap noncreature spell into a +2/+2 combat trick, so the primary plan is to cast Thor, stack Equipment and instants on the same turn, and finish with double strike. Cloud, Midgar Mercenary is a hidden armorer that searches Equipment and doubles Equipment triggers while equipped; secondary threats like Mockingbird, Etali, and Thor, God of Thunder can take over if Thor is taxed. The deck has no true combo, but its goldfish kill is a single oversized commander attack. Removal and protection are mostly instant-speed and permanent-based, with no counterspells, so timing and holding pump for the decisive turn matter most.
