Commander: The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride is a lands-matter beatdown commander that wins by turning its own saddle mechanic into a one-shot draw-and-ramp spell. The deck ramps to five mana, casts The Gitrog on time, then saddles it with the largest creature available, attacks, and sacrifices that creature to draw X and put X lands onto the battlefield. From there it deploys game-ending tramplers such as Apex Devastator and Ghalta, Primal Hunger, then doubles their power with Unnatural Growth or Return of the Wildspeaker. The commander can also close via commander damage with Rogue's Passage. Secondary paths include landfall armies from Avenger of Zendikar and Rampaging Baloths, plus recursion effects to rebuild after a wipe. There is no hidden commander and the commander is a single-faced card.
