Deck overview

This is a mono-black life-as-mana combo deck helmed by K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. K'rrik converts every {B} in a cost into 2 life, allowing the deck to power out spells far ahead of curve: Necropotence and Necrodominance for three life, rituals for a single life, and entire win conditions for a fraction of their mana cost. The primary kill is the infinite Chain of Smog + Professor Onyx loop, backed by a Bolas's Citadel + Aetherflux Reservoir storm finish and a devotion-based Gray Merchant of Asphodel drain. The deck is tutor-rich and draw-dense, and it can lock the table with Contamination or Infernal Darkness while breaking parity through its death-trigger mana engines. It aggressively spends its own life total, relying on lifelink, extort, and Reservoir triggers to stay ahead of the clock.
