Deck overview

This Boros control deck leverages Tamiyo, Upriser Crowned and a dense suite of Monarch enablers to generate steady card advantage while locking down combat. The game plan focuses on deploying defensive taxing permanents such as Ghostly Prison, Crawlspace, and War's Toll, alongside goad effects like Disrupt Decorum and Taunt from the Rampart to force opponents into attacking one another. Meanwhile, Tamiyo punishes any incoming damage by permanently neutralizing attackers with stun counters. As the table batters itself down, the deck scales up powerful upkeep engines including Court of Embereth, Court of Ire, and Skyline Despot. These engines produce steady armies of flying tokens and direct burn damage to finish off weakened opponents around Turn 8, backed by defensive spells like Boros Charm and Flawless Maneuver.
